Kanye West fans will be disappointed to learn that Ye will no longer be performing at this year’s Rolling Loud Miami music festival.

The Chicago artist was set to headline the three-day event at Hard Rock Stadium this Friday with Future and Kendrick Lamar.

Festival organizers announced Sunday afternoon that Kid Cudi would replace Ye as the Friday night headliner. “Due to circumstances outside of our control, Ye will no longer be performing at Rolling Loud Miami 2022. Please welcome @KiDCuDi!” the tweet said.

Cudi, who collaborated with Ye on the Kids See Ghosts project, also confirmed the news, “Rager boy incoming!” the 38-year-old rapper-producer wrote via Twitter.

Rolling Loud co-founders Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler issued a statement regarding Ye’s unexpected cancellation, “We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022. We spent months working with him and his team on the performance. Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer be performing. This is the first time a headliner has ever pulled off our show and though we don’t take it lightly, we wish him the best. We look forward to welcoming Kid Cudi as a headliner in Miami and we can’t wait to see what he has in store.”

In a partially-deleted comment on a Rolling Loud official Instagram post, Cherif responded to fans’ upset and pleas to add Travis Scott to the festival lineup.

“Tried to convince Ye to stay on the lineup but he wasn’t having it 🤷‍♂️,” he wrote, adding on, “venue won’t allow Travis because of astroworld deaths.”

The announcement that Cudi will be taking over Ye’s spot on stage could not have come at a more interesting time, seeing as the pair recently fell out over Cudi’s friendship with comedian Pete Davidson, the current boyfriend of Ye’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.

“Hey! So I know some of you heard about the song I got w Pusha. I did this song a year ago when I was still cool w Kanye. I am not cool w that man. He's not my friend and I only cleared the song for Pusha cuz thats my guy. This is the last song u will hear me on w Kanye -Scott,” Cudi wrote in a tweet.

The feud between the longtime collaborators started after Ye took to social media to announce that Cudi will not be a part of Donda 2 due to his friendship with Davidson.

“Just so everyone knows Cudi will not be on Donda because he’s friends with you know who. We all speak in Billie language now,” Ye wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post.

Rolling Loud Miami is the second music festival this year Ye flaked on at the last minute. In April, he dropped out of headlining both weekends at Coachella one week before the festival began.

According to TMZ, the 45-year-old billionaire is now being sued for $7.1 million by Los Angeles-based production and design firm Phantom Labs.

In the lawsuit, Phantom Labs alleges that Ye and his team owe $1.1 million in fees for their work on Ye’s cancelled 2022 Coachella set, along with $6 million for their work on his Free Larry Hoover benefit concert with Drake in December 2021, a Donda 2 listening concert, and multiple Sunday Service gospel performances.
