Bianca Thompson is a Toronto-born journalist and creative writer who is emerging as a force in the industry with her vibrant persona and ability to craft captivating narratives with an artistic touch. She has made significant contributions to Complex Canada, interned under sportscaster Kayla Grey, and conducted insightful interviews with notable Canadian artists.

What started as a hobby of writing stories, poetry, and music, turned into a profound love for creative expression and storytelling. Recognizing her potential in the media landscape, she set forth to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University. Bianca stands out as a multifaceted professional, proficient in editorial work, broadcast, script-writing, interviewing, content creation, copywriting and podcasting. Her accolades include winning the 2023 Lead Podcasting Award, the 2024 Len Coates Memorial Award and being named a recipient of The Canadian Journalism Foundation’s Black Journalism Fellowship, which she will begin at The Globe and Mail in September 2025.
